Hot Mess - June 2024

It's the 12th of January, time to get messy. (insert deer-in-the-headlight look) As you likely recall from previous 12ths, I am not one who likes messes. Not one bit. BUT a challenge is only a challenge if it stretches you, and I'm up for the Hot Mess Success Challenge.

Barb, Carol, Darlene, Terry, and I create cards for the Hot Mess Success challenge each month and share them on the 12th.

It's Anything Goes - as long as there is something messy involved.

For this month's card I started with an altered piece of paper in my scrap file. It's actually a piece of watercolor paper with some fun hearts stamped/embossed on it. I can not remember where it came from or what stamp it is.

I sprinkled some Ken Oliver powders on it and gave it a good spritz of water.

After doing this a couple of times to get the color mixture I wanted, I placed a piece of heavy cardstock on top of it to remove some of the excess water and color.

Then I designed my card.

The good news is I have this altered paper to use later (who knows; maybe it will show up in another Hot Mess Success card).

Be sure to check out the other Hot Mess gals blogs, too, to see their cards (you'll be WOW'd!)...

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

  1. WOW!!! I love the colors! And now you have another panel to use later, that's great! I'm not familiar with these powders, I'll have to look them up. I wonder if they are similar to Brushos. Stunning card, Jeanette!

  2. A great card Jeanette - what fun you had with the powders, and I love that you got the other 'print' - I love doing that also. A great finish to the 'heart' panel
