Did you know I'm an Elvis fan? It's true. I play Elvis music all the time - on my phone at home and on Sirius in my car Hot Sauce.
A few months ago I came across a video on Facebook that caught my attention. Dean Z, the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist. I was delighted to see he performs in Branson and told my husband I'd love to go see him. Thus began plans for a short vacation to Branson, which happened last month.
We saw Dean Z and Brock's favorite Dolly Parton's Stampede. We also threw in a morning show to Beach Boys California Dreamin' Tribute.
Of course, no trip to Branson (for us, at least) is complete without Fuddruckers (with as many pickles as I want on my burger) and Mel's Hard Luck Diner.
Oh! And a trip to the amazing store Scrapbooks Forever. I spent about an hour there shopping (duh!) and admiring the many card samples they have on display. I am not a fan of glitter - I never have success with it - but the glittery Northwoods cards they displayed were exceptionally beautiful. Shirley, the owner of the store, explained that one thing that sets their glittery elements apart from others is the fact that they use the coordinating color of glitter on the pieces. So, if the item is colored red, it has red glitter, blue has blue glitter, etc.
I left Scrapooks Forever with a stamp set - Northwoods Pine Cone and Holly Cluster and Ornaments with Holly - and a few other items, vowing to try glitter again.
The pictures don't show the sparkle, but I added glitter to the ornaments and to the berry clusters. And it truly is the first time I've ever been happy with my glitter application. (I used clear Art Glitter Glue with a fine tip applicator.)
I hope you enjoyed hearing about our Branson trip and seeing my card, too. You might find this tidbit of information fun, too - I live in Illinois, bought the stamp set in Missouri, and made the card at a retreat in Wisconsin.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Wonderful glittery card Jeanette - and what a long distance for that stamp set to travel for it's first use :)
Your trip sounds amazing - a real wander down memory lane, musically, at least...
