I am having so much fun as this week's Growing in Unity gal. It's giving me a reason to use some of my beloved Unity stamps - and if you've been here the past two days, you know that I'm choosing stamps that remind me of my daughter Brittney.
If I were to guess - and I guess I am guessing - I'd say today's card would be Brittney's favorite of my week. Why? Because it has a dog on it.
Brittney always wanted a dog, but her dad and I just didn't think that a pet of any kind was a good fit for our lifestyle, so we were the "bad parents" who refused to let her have one.
When she moved to the bush of Alaska, she quickly discovered that there were a lot of dogs in the village. That made her happy. She always carried dog treats with her so she could feed her little four-legged friends a treat.
It wasn't long until she adopted Hagrid and later added Ruth to her family, too. She sure loves them!
Hagrid and Ruth are both bigger than the dog in the sweet image, but I still think of Brittney when I see Unity's A Girl and Her Friend stamp set. The sentiment is from Unity's Shari Girl stamp set.
I added some splatters of ink to the sentiment piece to give it a different look, but in hindsight I wish I hadn't done that. It sort of just looks dirty to me. Oh well.
Don't forget to leave a comment in order to have your name put in the drawing for the Unity prize! And come back and comment each of the five days so you'll have a greater chance of winning.

ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet card Jeanette. I love the striped paper across the corner. Really makes the image pop.
ReplyDeleteAn amazing card Jeanette - not only is it a fabulous sentiment, but the overall look of it is stunning - the diagonally placed striped paper is genius! We were a cat family, and thankfully the children never wanted a dog...
