Technique Junkies - Cold Noses

I have a lot of dog stamps. Perhaps that's because I have a daughter who is dog-crazy. The dog on today's card is from Technique Junkies.

Doesn't he look wise?

Technique Junkies Cold Noses:

I'm pretty sure Brittney will like this card even though he doesn't look like either of her dogs - Hagrid or Ruth.

If you like saving money - and who doesn't - please use the code TJ10JEANETTE when checking out at Technique Junkies to receive a 10% discount.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

In addition to the Technique Junkies stamp listed in this blog post, I also used the following items when making these cards.

Inks: Pink Fresh Intense Black Ink and Copic and Olo Markers

Papers: Accent Opaque 120# White and SU Creamy Caramel CS and DP from my scrap file

Dies: Honey Bee Sweet Stack Rectangles and MFT Stitched Rectangles

Double Duty 2024 - Rubbernecker (Brass & Bliss)

In January of 2021, my stamping comrades Barb and Kelly and I debuted a new series/challenge. Double Duty was Barb's idea... and it is a GREAT idea! I've had so much fun with this series. Thanks for inviting me to play along, Barb!

This is Barb's description of the Double Duty concept...

Each month, we get to pick a stamp set from a predetermined company. Then, we will use that one stamp set and make two cards from the set.  Different images and sentiments from the same set can be used, or use the same image two different ways—Double Duty either way!  But, as an added challenge, one item must be used on both cards—same color cardstock, same ribbon, same stencil, same something.  Double Duty Again!  Post both cards on your blog on the same day—the 22nd of each month.  See-Double Duty again!  Have fun getting doubly inky each month with a different stamp company.  Let’s have fun!

Over the past year, things have changed a bit in who's participating, but not in the instructions. This year's Double Duty crafters are Barb, Carol, Darlene, and me.

This month's company is Rubbernecker (Brass & Bliss).

Card #1

Card #2

The thing/s that are the same on both cards (as per the challenge specifications) are: mostly the same sketch, the same plaid DP, and the same type of embellishments.

Let's check out the other Double Duty cards, too...

From a Kit Series (PP) - December 2024

I started a new series on my blog in July of 2021. The idea was born from the fact that I have a lot of unused card/stamping kits just waiting to have some attention. Sheesh! Seems as though I buy them and they just sit. That just shouldn't be so I'm going to commit to using a kit once a month for this "From a Kit" series.

As I mentioned in my May 2023 blog posts, the only "kits" I have left (after completing the first 21) are SEVERAL Stampin' UP! Paper Pumpkin kits. I also mentioned that I've discovered I'm not really very fond of the card designs found in the Paper Pumpkin kits... so I decided IF I'm going to use those Paper Pumpkin kits that I've invested in, I'll need to veer away from the designs as they appear in the kits.

This month I made 3 cards using the October 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit - Joy to the World.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

In addition to the Paper Pumpkin kit I used the following items...

CS - Accent Opaque 120# White and SU Cherry Cobbler, Merry Merlot, and Shaded Spruce

Dies - Unity Scallops and Rectangles

Ink - Pink Fresh Detail Black and Taylored Expressions Cherry Pop and Jalapeno

Embellishments: Amazon Diamond Dots and Eyelet Outlet Matte Finish Enamel Dots

SCS Sketch #SVC1041

I find that having a sketch to use can get my creative ideas flowing, so I love being part of the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge team. There is a new sketch to work with every Wednesday. I encourage you to check them out.

Here's this week's sketch - SC1041:

My card:

I obviously changed things up quite a bit. I rotated the image 80 degrees and I moved the strip to the side and offset the "circles". It's really okay to make the sketches work for you. No SCS police will come knocking on your door.

I hope you'll use the sketch to make a card, too.

Papers: Accent Opaque 120# White and SU Magenta Madness CS and DP from my scrap file

Creative Crew 2024 - December

It's posting day for the Creative Crew. What exactly is the Creative Crew? We are a group of 7 card-making friends from various US locations who have a fun monthly creative adventure with a secretive twist.

One of the group's members hosts each month. As host, she chooses a theme and then sends each of the group members a theme-appropriate image and some designer paper. The host can also include a sentiment and/or special item if she chooses to do so. The group members all receive the same items, but there is to be no conversation about what was received or the cards we're making. Then, on the 15th of the month, we all reveal our cards.

It's always fun to see how each person uses the image/papers.

This month it was Terry's turn to host. She chose the theme...

Thank Snow Much

Terry sent us the following items...

Images: Taylored Expressions "Bear Hugs"

Sentiments: Taylored Expressions "Berry Much Love"

DP: Misc. from her stash

Hot Mess - December 2024

It's the 12th of January, time to get messy. (insert deer-in-the-headlight look) As you likely recall from previous 12ths, I am not one who likes messes. Not one bit. BUT a challenge is only a challenge if it stretches you, and I'm up for the Hot Mess Success Challenge.

Barb, Carol, Darlene, Terry, and I create cards for the Hot Mess Success challenge each month and share them on the 12th.

It's Anything Goes - as long as there is something messy involved. Some months are messier than others. AND some months turn out better than others.

This month's just a mess. I'm not at all pleased with it.

I started out by stamping the Technique Junkies Zen Trees Background (on sale at TJ right now for 30% off plus an additional 10% off with my discount code - TJ10JEANETTE) on white CS. I then tried out my new toys - Ranger Distress Spritz in two colors. I am not at all impressed. I thought they would give a smooth cover, but instead they are spotty. UGH! They do have a lot of shimmer and shine though.

One thing for sure - I did make a mess. ;)

Be sure to check out the other Hot Mess gals blogs, too, to see their cards (you'll be WOW'd!)...

3M Happy Paw-lidays

Kelly, Barb, and I have been creating together as the Three Musketeers every month since November 2014. We all three create a card using the same image. I always enjoy seeing how different our cards are, even though we use the same image. This is one of my favorite posts of the month.

We take turns choosing what stamp will be used. This month it was Barb's turn. She chose images and sentiments from the Simon Says Stamps and Newton's Nook Stamptember collaboration Happy Paw-lidays stamp set.

Thank you, Barb! This was such fun!

Here's the inside:

Be sure to check out Barb's and Kelly's cards (tomorrow, as I am a day early this mont)...
