You might recall that I mentioned I was wanting to invest in some colored ink pads, but am not sure what brand I want so I'm testing some to see which brand best meets my needs. If you missed that blog post, you can check it out - HERE.
I'm wanting dye inks that blend smoothly with blender brushes but are also suitable for stamping.
For today's card I used two colors of Simon Hurley ink pads - Over the Moon and Traffic Cone. I also used two stencils - Altenew's Stripe Builder and Catherine Pooler's In the Jungle.
I really do like these two colors and was pleased with the look of the card, but the Simon Hurley ink pads will not be on my short list. They seemed dry even though they were brand new and I had to work and work to try to get them blended.
I still have a few brands to try before I decide which I like best.
Edited on 11/15/2022 - Taylored Expressions had their ink pads on sale today and since they were one of my two top contenders, I made the purchase. This experiment is complete.
Paper: Hammermill 110# White and SU Grapefruit Grove CS
Ink (for blending): Simon Hurley Over the Moon and Traffic Cone
Stencils: Altenew Stripe Builder and Catherine Pooler in the Jungle
Highlight Dots: Jelly Roll #10 White Gel Pen
Dies: Altenew Bold Thanks and MFT Stitched Rectangles
Embellishments: Recollections Pearls
A stunning card Jeanette - love the colours you used together. Pity about the apparently 'dry' pads - not a good experience
