Dueling Darling 2 - September 2022

The 15th of each month is such a special day here on my blog - it's Dueling day.

Not to worry; no blood is drawn in the duel. Well, unless someone punctures themselves with a paper piercer gets a deep paper cut or some other such hazard of this hobby we love. This is actually a friendly harmless duel. That's why we are called Dueling Darlings 2.

Not sure what that is? It's a concept that my friend Kelly came up with over a decade ago - two groups, two hostesses, one theme, and lots of fun. The hostesses choose the theme and then each hostess sends a theme-appropriate kit to the other members on her team.

Each person creates a card and keeps it all a secret until the 15th, which is posting day.

Terry and Darlene are this month's hostesses. They came up with a great idea for their theme...

Free for All

This is what Darlene said about the theme -  Terry and I came up with the idea of using the various little freebies that we have collected over the years when ordering from various vendors.

Her kit included the following items:

2 little stamps from Taylored Expressions

A little die from Taylored Expressions that sort of matches the two stamps

Ribbons from American Crafts and my stash

DPs from American Crafts

Gems from The Paper Studio

THANKS Darlene!

Now, let's duel...

The stamp set was adorable - it featured a cupcake as the teacher. I decided to change things up a bit by covering up that teacher with two ice cream cones (which were the die set I received in my kit.

I also used the thanks stamp - such a fun font.

The hearts are part of one of the designer papers, I used a heart-shaped paper punch to cut out the hearts.

Be sure to check out all of the Dueling Darling 2 cards:

Jeanette - that's me

Lorraine - SCS Gallery

Terry

Tracie

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

The only things I used other than what was in Darlene's kit was some CS (Hammermill 110# White and SU Fresh Freesia), dies (MFT Stitched Rectangles and MFT Stitched Tag-Corner Rectangles),a punch (EK Success Heart), and inks for blending color on the ice cream cones (Concord & 9th Wheat, and Taylored Expressions Jelly Donut and Lollipop).

I just love what you did with the stamp set you were sent. So cute to add the ice cream. I love it that we both cut out the hearts to put on our cards.

Such a sweet and adorable card. I love the color choice and the stamps are too cute too be forgotten. I know I am not a math genius. I too remember seeing that sentiment in a yearbook, except I think it was MY yearbook! Love it all. Thanks for sharing, Jeanette.
