It's the 12th of July, time to get messy. (insert deer-in-the-headlight look) As you likely recall from previous 12ths, I am not one who likes messes. Not one bit. BUT a challenge is only a challenge if it stretches you, and I'm up for the Hot Mess Success Challenge.
Barb, Carol, Darlene, Kelly, and I create cards for the Hot Mess Success challenge each month and share them on the 12th.
It's Anything Goes - as long as there is something messy involved.
This month I kind of sort of used a technique I saw featured on Karen Dunbrook's blog - HERE. I wasn't 100% sure I was following her instructions, but I did what I did and kind of liked the effect.
First I added ink colors directly from the ink pad onto an embossing folder (I started with the lightest color to lessen the risk of contaminating the ink pads). Then I did a fine spritz of water, added a piece of white CS and ran it through my machine.
Karen did mention that you could do it on either side of the embossing folder so I tried both sides to see which one I liked best.
I liked the one on the left the best so that's what I used.
Papers: Accent Opaque 120# White, Recollections Black, and SU Bermuda Bay and Orchid Oasis CS and DP from my scrap file
Messy Medium: Sizzix Bubble Wrapping EF and Ranger Distress Inks (Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers, and Salty Ocean)
Dies: Sizzix Geo Stitched Frames, SU Stitched Shapes (Circles), Studio Katia Dotted Patterns, and Whimsy Quick Strip
Embellishments: Brad and Fastener from an unknown vendor

Oh this is SO MUCH FUN!! Love that cute donkey, the playful shapes to the layering panels and the way the bubble wrap embossing folder with ink turned out! I'm going to give it a try with my new distress ink pads.
Wonderful background Jeanette and a fun image - the finished card is quirky and really fun! love it
