It's the 12th of June, time to get messy. (insert deer-in-the-headlight look) As you likely recall from previous 12ths, I am not one who likes messes. Not one bit. BUT a challenge is only a challenge if it stretches you, and I'm up for the Hot Mess Success Challenge.
Barb, Carol, Darlene, Kelly, and I create cards for the Hot Mess Success challenge each month and share them on the 12th.
It's Anything Goes - as long as there is something messy involved. By messy, we mean the process, not necessarily the finished project. If my fingers are anything to go by, I definitely got messy this month even if my card doesn't look messy.
If I didn't know better, just looking at this card I would think I stamped the beautiful flowers with blue ink and layered some papers and called it finished. I kid you not; that is not what I did. Instead I used Versamark ink to stamp the flowers on white cardstock. Then I used an applicator sponge to lightly brush two colors of Pan Pastels over the image (turquoise and a royal blue). Of course I couldn't possibly do that without getting blue fingers.
The blue layer was also white cardstock, but I sponged the same two colors of Pan Pastels all over it.
Hairspray to set the color and then it was on to making the card itself. I kept it very simple, allowing the flowers to be the focus.
Be sure to check out the other Hot Mess gals blogs, too, to see their cards (you'll be WOW'd!)...
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
I can just image your fingers. I too hate messes, especially when I create them without meaning to do so. Ugh! Beautiful card and layout. I love the detail on your die cut too.
ReplyDeleteOh what a glorious blue your fingers must have been Jeanette - love the end result, such a soft look to it all
