What started as Dueling Darlings over a decade ago and then spent one year as Classy Card Ladies is now the revamped Dueling Darling 2 group. We are two groups of four who duel it out on the 15th of each month. Not to worry; no blood is drawn in the duel. Well, unless someone punctures themselves with a paper piercer gets a deep paper cut or some other such hazard of this hobby we love. This is actually a friendly harmless duel.
Each group has a hostess of the month and the two hostesses get their heads together (virtually of course, since we're from all over the United States). The hostesses choose a theme and then each hostess sends a theme-appropriate kit to the other members on her team.
Each person creates a card and keeps it all a secret until posting day.
Today is the day - exciting!!!
Tracie and Carol are this month's hostesses. They discovered that February is Library Lovers Month. Tracie (the hostess of my team) included this in her kit... I am an avid reader so Carol and I thought this would be the perfect theme for our challenge this month. Let's honor our libraries this month with a fun card.
I love their theme! And I loved Tracie's kit, too!
Images - Book Worm by Fun Stampers Journey
Designer Papers - Books (Witches & Wizards by Echo Park), Words (Scribe by Authentique), and Cubbies (Farmhouse Market by Carta Bella)
Ribbon - Red (The Ribbon Boutique), Blue (Island Indigo by Stampin' UP!), and Twine
Embellishments - Buttons (from her stash) and Gems (from Fun Stampers Journey
Oh... and Tracie also sent a bookmark that is oh-so-gorgeous!
Thank you, Tracie!
Now, let's duel...

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
I used some CS (SU Cherry Cobbler) and Dies (Gina K Master Layouts 2, My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle and Paper and Paper Roses Stitched Circles) in addition to the items in my kit to make my card.
WOW--Such a sweet card! I love the design as you created such a sweet setting with all of the elements you picked! It sure is a great theme and you rocked it!
ReplyDeleteJeanette - I absolutely love your card. You used so many of the elements that I sent and they worked perfectly in to your card.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic layout!! The circle die cut for the sentiment reminds me of a spotlight and it's perfect. I really admire how many shapes and elements you incorporated into this card. Nicely done!
