Blue Knight - Light of the World

There seems to have been a lot of Christmas on my blog this week - but that's okay. I love Christmas! I hope you do, too.... and what better way to feel cooler when it's so hot outside, than to be inside (with the AC) making Christmas cards.

The Blue Knight rubber stamp set that I'm featuring for today's Design Team post is The Light of the World, which can be see in the Blue Knight Rubber Stamps online store - HERE. This is a three-stamp set. Did I mention - it is absolutely gorgeous!

Card #1

For my first card I did very little coloring. I masked (using a piece of paper) an area have control of where the yellow ink was placed - I wanted it to look like a definite glow from from star overhead. I simply used a blending brush to add the yellow ink. The hillside was colored with a Copic Marker and the star was colored with a gold Glitter Gel Pen.

I added the sentiment from the stamp set as an additional layer to the card.

Card #2

I did not stamp the star onto this card - with it being a separate stamp, it is not part of the scene but rather can be added to the scene. This time I chose to use a gold glittery star brad. BUT first I colored the entire sky blue, the land a sandy color and the buildings neutral colors.

Again, I added the sentiment from the stamp set as an additional layer, but this time it was in the sky.

I used My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangles Dies on both cards to give the edges a finished look.

I think it's amazing to see how one stamp looks so different depending on how it's used.
