Hot Mess Success - Take 23

It's the 12th of June, time to get messy. (insert deer-in-the-headlight look) As you likely recall from previous 12ths, I am not one who likes messes. Not one bit. BUT a challenge is only a challenge if it stretches you, and I'm up for the Hot Mess Success Challenge.

Barb, Carol, Darlene, Kelly, Terry and I create cards for the Hot Mess Success challenge each month and share them on the 12th.

It's Anything Goes - as long as there is something messy involved.

This month I revisited a technique I tried some time ago... adding simple school glue to cardstock, using a plastic card. Once it dried, I blended Antique Linen Distress Ink onto the piece. This time I added another step - I  ran it through an Embossing Folder to give it an aged look. I then blended some more of the ink onto it. The glue gives the piece a waxy smooth finish, which is kind of fun.

Be sure to check out the other Hot Mess gals blogs, too, to see their cards (you'll be WOW'd!)...

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

  4. Stunning card Jeanette. loving you gingham around the textured focal point. Love your background, and although I have used glue, I sort of splattered/wiped it on with a piece of acetate - I must try the plastic card next time I do some.
    Thanks for the inspiration
    Stay safe
