On the 7th of each month, the SCS Crafters of Faith group shares cards made with a common theme, chosen by one of the members. These challenges are inspired by Scripture, though the cards themselves do not have to have a religious theme.
This month Shelly challenged us with the following...
Scripture: Psalm 95:1,2,6,7,8 Come let us praise the Lord with joy: let us joyfully sing to God our savior. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving; and make a joyful noise to him with psalms. Come let us adore and fall down: and weep before the Lord that made us. For he is the Lord our God; and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. Today if you shall hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Challenge: Make a card with music and a heart somewhere on it. Bonus add a sheep/lamb-but that is not necessary.
I wanted to include all three things - but had a bit of challenge figuring out how to do that. I had the fun Whipper Snapper Fleece Navidad stamp to incorporate the sheep and music part, but what to do about the heart. Then I remembered I had some heart-shaped dies and my idea came together.
I die-cut part of the image but used the entire thing, letting the blended color from behind it show through the opening by offsetting the cut piece a little bit.
The background was made by blending five colors of distress ink onto white carrdstock - I learned how to do that at Jenn Shurkus' Distress Ink class not long ago.
I hope Shelly and the other Crafters of Faith ladies like my playful card.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
