Green Terrarium with a Touch of Gold

This is the third Wednesday of March, which means it is the day that Kelly, Barb, and I reveal our Ready, Set, Go cards.

Not sure what Ready, Set, Go is? Well, it's a lot of fun! And a bit of creativity. And an extreme challenge theme.

Ready, Set, Go is an idea that Kelly came up with and she invited Barb and I to join her on the adventure. We take turns choosing the theme (this month it's my turn), but the idea is for it to be a bit more challenging than just the average theme.

This is my theme...

Our posting date is March 17th; St. Patrick’s Day… so you know I had to incorporate that into our Ready, Set, Go! theme. I did a little research and learned some interesting facts about this holiday. For instance, did you know 90% of Americans celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? I had no clue – and truthfully, I’m not even sure if that fact is accurate (how can they know???) but we’re going to go with it.

Our March 2021 Challenge is to make a card that is at approximately 90% green – BUT that’s too easy! Of course, we can’t stop there. As a child, I always loved hearing the myths about the leprechauns and their pots of gold at the end of rainbows; that always seemed to fascinate me… so the other part of our challenge is to use at least one ACTUAL coin in some way when making our cards. And one more thing just for fun – but not a challenge requirement – you’ll put a great big smile on my face if you also use a tad bit of the color gold on your card.

Have fun! I’ll look forward to seeing your cards on St. Patrick’s Day.

Ready? Set? Go!

I think my "gold pebbles" aren't centered in my terrarium very well, because obviously it doesn't hang straight. UGH!

You might be wondering about the "coin" element of the theme. I lightly sponged some Encore Gold Ink around the edge of a quarter to create that chain of color on the left side of the card. It wasn't as pretty as I hoped, but I decided to accept it as it is and to go ahead and finish my card.

I decided the 90% Green element only applied to the card front (I hope Barb and Kelly don't fuss) so used white cardstock and more terrarium pieces inside my card...

Be sure to check out Barb's blog and Kelly's blog to see what they did with this Ready Set Go theme!
