It's the 12th of February, time to get messy. (insert deer-in-the-headlight look) As you likely recall from previous 12ths, I am not one who likes messes. Not one bit. BUT a challenge is only a challenge if it stretches you, and I'm up for the Hot Mess Success Challenge.
Barb, Carol, Darlene, Kelly, Terry and I create cards for the Hot Mess Success challenge each month and share them on the 12th.
It's Anything Goes - as long as there is something messy involved.
This month I splattered watercolor paint onto a piece of Canson Cold Bond Watercolor Paper. That didn't seem to get much bang for my buck so I then splattered some water onto the paper, too. I'm not sure that's the look I wanted because it gave me some lakes of watercolor, but I decided to go with it anyway.
I let it dry overnight because I wanted it to be completely dry. Then I stamped some flowers on it - in three different areas because I wasn't sure which one I would like best. I cut the with the coordinating die.
I ended up deciding to use the one with the most "rivers" of color on it for my card.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

ReplyDeleteLove the Hot Mess Success Challenge! Real life happens to me that way more often than I'd like to admit, but God is so good.
ReplyDeleteThis is so elegant and soft, Jeanette! I love the flower and now I wish I'd hung onto it before destashing all of my TT - but happy to see your lake-filled watercolor wonder! I thought it was patterned paper at first glance - that's how well you did! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully created. Love your mess. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWOw Jeanette what a beautiful card. The floral image is fascinating with the watercoloured background - love the basic sketch you have used too - that is so eye catching!
ReplyDeleteStay safe
Blessings
