These past two days there have been 14 VSN Challenges on SCS, each lasting an hour. I've managed to make a few of them and hope to get them all made before the final deadline on December 21st.
The first one I made was for Dana's Alcohol Challenge. Hmmmm... that might not be the best place for a minister's wife to start, do you think? But no worries. I used Alcohol INKS.
I've wanted to try this technique for some time now - and I had the needed supplies - so this challenge was the motivation that helped me to give it a try.
First I added drops of two colors of Ranger alcohol ink onto Yupo paper. I puffed air onto it to help move the ink around filling out the space and getting a blending of colors.
I chose a sunflower stamp, because honestly I only own 3 colors of alcohol ink and used two of them just seemed to say Sunflower! I inked it with the Alcohol Lift Ink and pressed it firmly onto the dried yupo paper, then stamped it onto white CS.
The colors are subtle but very pretty.
Then I put together the card design.
I thought the image needed some pizazz behind it so I used the piece with the ink on it for my background.
There is a one-hour time limit for making VSN cards and this one took nearly all of that time - it took 52 minutes.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
