It's the 12th of October, time to get messy. (insert deer-in-the-headlight look) As you likely recall from previous 12ths, I am not one who likes messes. Not one bit. BUT a challenge is only a challenge if it stretches you, and I'm up for the Hot Mess Success Challenge.
Barb, Carol, Darlene, Kelly, Terry and I create cards for the Hot Mess Success challenge each month and share them on the 12th.
It's Anything Goes - as long as there is something messy involved.
As is my norm, I didn't watch any messy tutorials since last month - okay, well, not in forever really. LOL! So I had to try to figure this out on my own.
not. a. good. idea.
I started with a piece of heavy white CS and some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse. Surely that's a good idea, right? Nah! I swiped the gorgeous mouse across the CS and it added color but no real pizzazz. Not to worry. This is a process... so onward I go.
I looked deeper in my drawer of Nuvo products and found some Shimmer Powder. Hmmmmm.... this must be similar to the Ken Oliver stuff, so I decided to give it a try. Yep, that was exactly what it was.
I sprinkled it on and then spritzed on some water.
Gorgeous! (But did I think to take a picture? Of course not.) You'll just have to imagine what that colorful rectangle looked liked because all you'll see of it is the oval I cut from it and put on my card.
Once my fingers were sufficiently messy (even my wrist, though I have no clue how I managed that), I decided enough was enough and I put together a plan for a card.
Messy Elements: Nuvo Embellishment Mousse and Shimmer Powder
Papers: Accent Opaque 120# White and SU Night of Navy, Rose Red, and Soft Sky CS
Dies: Altenew Bold Thanks, Altenew Leaf Mix, Rubbernecker Nested Rectangle Stitch, Sizzix Oval, and The Greetery Fit to Be Tied
Embellishments: Eyelet Outlet Glitter Enamel Dots and SU Ribbon
Beautiful! As always the addition of the ribbon treatment ties this together so beautifully and YES! They are messy- I wear gloves! Therefore you nailed it :)
