Let's Get Messy - Take 12

It's the 12th of July which means it's about to get messy on my blog. Okay, maybe not on my blog, but if you could see my fingers. 

Me oh my!

Barb, Kelly, Terry and I create cards for the Hot Mess Success challenge each month and share them on the 12th. 

As you can see from the title of this blog post, we've been doing this monthly challenge for a year now. WOW! 

Now, lest you think this is comfortable, let me assure you, it is not. LOL! I really am not a messy kind of gal. My mind doesn't even think that way... BUT that is exactly why I love the Hot Mess Success Challenge. It forces me out of my comfort zone.

I happened upon a technique-type video a month or two ago that I thought would be just messy enough to count as Hot Mess Success but not so messy that it would stress me out. That's a win/win, to my way of thinking.

Teresa Momber called the  technique Partial Scene Masking with Dies. You can see her video HERE.

I used a Spellbinders Rectangle Die for my "mask" - spraying the back of it with Pixie Spray. If you haven't tried that stuff with your stencils/blending, you really need to do so. It's amazing! But I digress.

As demonstrated in Teresa Momber's video, I blended three colors of ink into a portion of the rectangle. From there, the card was easy to complete.
