Let's Get Messy - Take 11

It's the 12th of June which means it's about to get messy on my blog. Okay, maybe not on my blog, but if you could see my fingers.

Me oh my!

Barb, Kelly, Terry and I create cards for the Hot Mess Success challenge each month and share them on the 12th. Now, lest you think this is comfortable, let me assure you, it is not. LOL! I really am not a messy kind of gal. My mind doesn't even think that way. BUT that is exactly why I love the Hot Mess Success Challenge. It forces me out of my comfort zone.

I happened upon a video a week or so ago of a technique I decided I wanted to try. The video was shared by Honeybee Stamps. I tracked it down to the artist's blog, which you can see HERE.

Mindy was very thorough in her presentation and I had absolutely no trouble making a mess ummmm... executing the technique.

First I blended three colors of Ranger Distress Oxide inks onto a piece of white cardstock. Then I spritzed the back of a stencil and placed it on the blended paper. After resting there a couple of minutes, I carefully removed it and allowed the piece to completely dry before putting the rest of my card together.

It was fun to do and I suspect I'll use this technique again someday.

I hope Barb, Kelly, and Terry like my card.

Now let's head over to their blogs to see their messiness, too...

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

  5. I've done this technique before, but have never achieved the awesomeness that you have.

The secret is in the beautiful colours you used. A very elegant card.
