It's the 3rd.... the day that Kelly, Barb, and I share our One Plus Twelve cards. One Plus Twelve is an idea that Kelly came up with last year - use one stamp (only one!) to make a card every month. Sentiments are optional. We had so much fun doing this last year that we decided to do it again this year.
This year I chose Aleah Girl from Unity for my one stamp. Truthfully choosing "the" stamp is the most challenging part of this.
Aleah is a fun stamp - she's pretty! - but she's tall which might end up giving me some challenges before the year is over. We'll see.
Last month I did some paper-piecing to give her a design on her sweater. This month I decided to cut her out on an oval and see where that took me. Yep, probably backwards, but I did that as soon as I'd colored her, before I had any idea what design I'd use nor what papers. I never said I was the most brilliant person in the world. LOL!
I'm not a symmetrical kind of gal so I didn't want to center her in the oval. Then I decided to add a strip of Washi Tape to eliminate some of that white space and at the same time add a sentiment of sorts.
I added a Birthday Sentiment to the inside as well as some more of the Washi Tape.
Now let's head over to Kelly's blog and Barb's blog to see their February One Plus Twelve cards.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Wow, 12 cards using the one stamp set. That is a huge challenge! I can see where you have to be really careful in choosing your stamp set. I love this card that you created. Love your color choices and the fact that you placed her off center. Good Luck. I look forward to see what other ideas you come up for her. TFS!
ReplyDeleteOh she's gorgeous this month! I love the 4th of July vibe with the red, white and blue! Very clever to add her to an oval and the ribbon is a great accent piece. Wonderful card for February!
ReplyDeleteWell looky there....another way to use all that Washi tape I have been collecting!LOL Great idea Jeanette and I love the off center Girl.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, love how this works Jeanette with the image offset in the oval, the washi tape and black pearls(?) are great accents
