Wonder Woman Today

This is a very special day. Not only is it exactly one week until Christmas; not only is it a mere three days until my son and daughter-in-law arrive for a visit; not only is it the third Wednesday of the month which is Ready Set Go posting day; and not only is it the anniversary (43 years, I think) of ABC's debut of its new series called Wonder Woman. Oh, it's even more special than all of that! It's the day that the Ready Set Go trio will debut the 2019 version of Wonder Woman - because Barb challenged us to each make a card or project that depicts how we see Wonder Woman in one of the others in this little Ready Set Go trio. 

Here she is - 

Wonder Woman Kelly!

I truly see Kelly as a Wonder Woman - in so many ways. She is a talented card-maker and inspires so many of us with her brilliant use of color and delightful images to create stunning masterpieces. (Did you know she's had some of her cards published?) She is also a sweet spirited friend to many, always willing to listen, to offer encouragement when needed, to laugh with you (or cry with you). She is a jewel! Kelly has a positive attitude, which doesn't mean life is always easy but she has a way of making the best of situations and will even insert humor when life is throwing a curve ball at her. She balances family, volunteering, taxi driving (okay, that's for her family, not a side job) and so much more. She's always willing to set another plate at the table so someone won't be alone for the holidays. She is definitely Wonder Woman.

When I was processing what I wanted to create for my card depicting Kelly as Wonder Woman, I first thought of family because Kelly is an amazing wife, mom, daughter, sister, mother-in-law, and Oma to a sweet one-year old granddaughter. (Sheesh! She even created a snow-themed activity for sweet wee one - and they all live in Florida where there is no snow.) 

Yes, definitely, Kelly is Wonder Woman when it comes to family... but I could not find any stamp in my stash that fit the idea of family the way I wanted it to. (I'm sorry Kelly.) So I put my thinking cap back on and thought some more.

Here's a sneak peek:

Little cabin in the woods. What does that have to do with Kelly? The theme for their Christmas this year is Cabin, complete with what I'll call homespun tree decorations and packages wrapped in Kraft paper and tied with jute. I can just imagine the fun that Kelly is creating for her family at the "cabin" in their living room, can't you? I know that they will be making memories with their Wonder Woman.

The Kraft Paper and SU Linen Thread (a lighter-weight jute) on my card represent the packages under Kelly's tree.

I used a button because Kelly often uses buttons on her cards. I also used the MFT Wonky Stitch Rectangle Die because it, too, is one that Kelly uses. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, the first time I ever saw this die in use it was on her blog on one of her cards.
