Thankful for Rain and Puddles

NOTE: This is my second blog post of the day. Please keep scrolling to check out my Eyelet Outlet card, too.

My friend Kelly started a group on SCS a few years ago called Crafters of Faith. It is a precious place to gather with other sisters in faith who also happen to share a love for rubber stamping and card-making.

Each month one of us chooses a scripture verse/passage and coordinating theme and we create cards/projects with that theme. We share our creations on the 7th of the month - which is today. YAY!

This month it was my turn to choose our theme.

Scripture: All things were created through him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created. (John 1:3, CSV)

Challenge: Include something on your card (or other project) that you are especially thankful that God created.

Here is the inside of my card:

Yes, I'm thankful for rain and puddles! Why? Well, obviously we need rain for our sustenance. That's a given. But what about the puddles? I am thankful for puddles because my son Brock loves to splash his way through them, even if the direct route would not take him through the puddle. LOL! He'll do a little detour in order to splash. That may not seem like such a big deal to most people, after all, Brock in a man in his 30's... but to me it IS a big deal. You see, Brock is autistic so when he was young, doctors warned us he might not be happy in life; that indeed he would likely deal with depression as he realized he was different than other people. That broke this mama heart, so I immediately began praying that Brock would be happy; that he would find joy in life. God has granted that prayer. Brock finds great joy in the little things that many of us might not find to be that big of a deal. He loves feeding the ducks at the park. He loves checking out the cows across the field from the garden. (Oh, and in case you wondered, cows sing... and the song they always sing is Power in the Blood. Brock has an imagination, that's for sure.) He loves fair food and has a built-in calendar that reminds us of all the fairs and festivals in our area. He loves to give hugs.... and people... and going places. And yes, Brock loves rain puddles.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Your card is precious as is your background story for it. Brock is not only a special gift from God, but is blessed to have a mom like you. My niece has a son who is autistic and I believe God knows exactly where to place these beautiful children. Thanks for Sharing.

What a beautiful story about your card, Jeanette. It reminds us too that we need to see those simple things and enjoy them. There is so much around us that can make us happy if we only stop and look. Blessings.

What a beautiful card Jeanette, and I love the 'back story' to your card. Brock is certainly a blessing and a true answer to prayer with his enjoyment of life
