Let's Get Messy

There's a new series happening today. It started when my friends Kelly and Barb and I were chatting one day. (The three of us comprised the Three Musketeers and also do the Ready Set Go Challenges.) We had things a bit jumbled that day and one of us said we were a mess. Another one piped up and said yes, we were hot messes. Then we decided that sounded like a fun idea for an ongoing theme. We put Barb in charge of working out the details for the Hot Messes - and she did.

So starting today (and on the second Monday of each month) we are going to share a card/project that is at least somewhat messy to make. Some months there may be a bit more specifics than that but for now it's just about getting messy.

There are four of us in this group - Barb, Kelly, another friend named Terry, and myself. I'll add links to their blogs a bit later in this blog post.

For my first Hot Messes project I used a plastic card (like a credit card) to lay down some acrylic paint on black cardstock. I did this randomly until I was satisfied with the look; then I let it dry thoroughly. After it was dry, I used the Spellbinders Rosy Summer Flowers die set to cut the background for the rose image.

Then it was just deciding on a layout and getting everything adhered - pretty easy!
