One Plus Twelve - Take 7

Kelly had a great idea to use one stamp twelve different ways in each of the months of 2019... and she asked Barb and I to join her in this adventure, which she called One Plus Twelve. Of course Barb and I quickly agreed and on January 3 we each revealed which stamp would be "the one" stamp. On the third of each month we will reveal another card made with our one stamp.

The stamp I chose for this year-long adventure is the dragonfly from the Unity Be the Best stamp set. You can see my cards from the previous six months HERE.

This month I decided to experiment with clear embossing powder and distress inks. It was a venture in trial and error. I first sponged the two colors of Distress Ink onto a piece of white cardstock and then heat embossed the image/s with clear embossing powder. I was not pleased wit the outcome because at first the image/s were so subtle they couldn't be seen very easily... so I added more ink to the piece, using makeup brushes - like I did originally only this time being a bit more aggressive with the ink. That seemed to work well.

Truth be told, I like the technique and how the two colors (Peeled Paint and Salty Ocean) blended together. I don't like the two "partial" images at the bottom, especially not the one on the left, and really wish I hadn't added them.

I hope Kelly and Barb like my card. Now let's head over to their blogs to see their One Plus Twelve cards...
