Celebrating Dairy Month
Today is a special day - first, it's my sister's birthday. Happy Birthday, Jeannie!
BUT... it's also the third Wednesday of the month, which means it's the day that Kelly, Barb, and I post our Ready Set Go challenge cards. These are not just the ordinary themes. They are extreme themes... a bit more over the top. We take turns choosing the theme. This month it was Barb's turn.
Here are her instructions...
June 19th is our posting date and I am going to make it an easy challenge. June is Dairy Month and being from Wisconsin as well as growing up on a farm, this was always a fun month. As 4-H member, we had an Ice Cream Social every year during June. There are also many Farm Breakfasts that are held to honor the farmers. Culvers Restaurants was founded in Wisconsin in 1984 and they honor farmers all month long with special events and contests.. So—please create a card or other project that honors Dairy Month. Farmers, Food, Animals, etc.—anything that reminds you of dairy. Easy-Peasy. Ready? Set. Go!
At first glance you might think her theme is not too challenging. That is until you look at my stash of stamps. Yep. I have an extensive collection (more stamps than anyone needs, or so some would say). However... I found that I was quite lacking in the "dairy" theme.
I do have a very VERY old CC Designs stamp set called Annabelle that has two quirky/funny cow images in it - and I decided to use one of them. The truth is, I purchased this stamp set used I'm guessing a decade or more ago. And I don't remember every using it until now. That just shouldn't be.
I'm pretty sure this comical cow wasn't quite what Barb had in mind for her theme... but hopefully I made her smile anyway.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Be sure to head over to Barb's blog and Kelly's blog to see their cards, too.
