Hanging the Lights - Or Not!

Did you participate in the Holiday Stories Virtual Stamping Night (VSN) on SCS this past weekend? If not, there's still time. You have until 11:00 p.m. (EST) on December 24th to upload your cards.

I was a hostess for one of the challenges... YAY! My challenge was inspired by the book/story 'Twas the Night Before Christmas...

Create a card that in some way represents one of your pre-Christmas traditions (not necessarily the night before Christmas, but something leading up to Christmas). Perhaps it is a shopping frenzy to buy gifts for all your family members. Maybe a trip to Grandmother’s house for a Christmas celebration (my family always gathered at Grandma’s house the Sunday before Christmas for the extended family Christmas dinner). Another idea would be a candlelight Christmas Eve service. Or watching outside the window in hopes of catching a glimpse of Santa. You get the idea… the possibilities are endless. Be sure to tell us what your pre-Christmas tradition is.

I traditionally put up and decorate several Christmas trees. (I'm a slacker this year - there are only 7 trees in our home.) I store the Christmas lights for each of our many trees in the boxes with the trees - inside leftover plastic shopping sacks. Okay, what was I thinking with this plan, right? Every year, almost every tree... the lights are tangled and I have to get them straightened out in order to put them on the tree. I'm pretty sure when I'm in the midst of the process, I kind of look like the goose on my card.

For each VSN card, there is a one-hour time limit. It took me 28 minutes to make this card.

Here's the inside of my card:
