The third Wednesday of every month is a special day... at least it is for Barb, Kelly, and me.
Ready? Set. Go!
RSG is our "extreme challenge" adventure. Each month one of us comes up with the theme - and it's supposed to be more challenging than the normal theme. This month it was Barb's turn to host.
Just look at the fun she had for us...
I love color combo challenges, so this is a version of one. Go to the master lists of Color Challenges on SCS. I think there are over 700 right now. Please check out the ones that end on your birthday—Jeanette is 26th, Kelly is 28th and I am 01. So you will be able to check out 7 or so that end with your date. I would look at numbers 1, 101, 201, 301, etc. You can pick any one of those color combinations that you want. The twist is to also pick a holiday—famous or weird—from the month of your birthday. So, Kelly picks something in March while Jeanette and I use October. Use your color combo to make a card that “celebrates” that holiday. Does that make sense? Ready? Set. Go!
I'm not sure how Barb and Kelly went about this, but the first thing I did was choose a color challenge to use.
Color Challenge CC626:
So Saffron
Cucumber Crush
Peekaboo Peach
The next thing I did was research October holidays. I didn't want to go with the obvious one - Halloween - so I looked for lesser known holidays.
These holidays made my Short List:
2 - Name Your Car Day (my car's name is Hot Sauce)
4 - National Taco Day (I love tacos!)
12 - Old Farmer's Day
21 - Count Your Buttons Day
31 - Carve a Pumpkin Day I had a perfect stamp)
But... I chose this one for my card:
National Frappe Day
October 4
I'd like to say my card went together easily after that. It didn't. This card is actually Plan B. But hey, every plan needs to have a back-up, right?
Now, let's head over to Barb's blog and Kelly's blog to see what they made!
Oh, and next month it's my turn to come up with the theme. I already have a plan... so be sure to come back on October 17th to see what it is.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
