Best Fishes

Please Note: This is my second blog post of the day. If you're here to see my Sweet Stampin' blog post, it is the one immediately following this one, so you can either keep scrolling or you can go HERE.

Today I have two cards that I made using the Eyelet Outlet Fish stamp set. While they both use the same stamp set, the theme/look of the two cards are not at all alike.

Card # 1

I wanted to use the just dropping you a line sentiment and the fish bowl image, but I didn't want them to overlap. Therefore I used a tiny piece of post it note to mask the portion of the sentiment that would have been covered with the fish bowl if I hadn't done that. Once I was finished stamping, it was quite simple to remove the piece of post it note.

I did some paper-piecing for the water and the sand at the bottom of the fish bowl. I actually attached the sand first and there is a wee bit of it underneath the water paper, too. I did it that way so there wouldn't be the risk of seeing a sliver of white.

Card #2

When a fisherman catches a GREAT fish he/she almost always wants a picture of it. Therefore when I decided to use the You're quite the catch sentiment, I wanted to add film strip/camera features. I also added a fish to the film strip and put some white matte enamel dots above it to represent air bubbles coming to the surface. This was a fun card to make.
