Four Little Poppies

Today's card may not be my most spectacular one; in fact, it's really rather plain. However, it is a card that touches my heart in special ways.

An American Legion member came to my husband's office recently, asking for donations to benefit our Veterans. You know the campaign, right? It will soon be National Poppy Day (May 25th), a day in which we honor our fallen heroes and support our living heroes. When we give money toward this Poppy Day cause, as a wee thank you in return, we receive a poppy or two. My husband gave a donation and came home with four poppies.

He sat these four poppies on a counter in our kitchen... it's actually a place that gathers junk, but that is beside the point. As I walked by them a time or two I began to think of what to do with them.

These poppies always made me pause to think of the men and women who have served - and are serving our country. Such sacrifice. Such love.

Almost immediately the idea came to me to incorporate these four little poppies into the design of a card... and what better stamp set to use with this American symbol than the Ready Set Boom stamp set from The Project Bin.

We enjoy our Liberty, thanks to our heroes!
When you see them, be sure to say
THANK YOU!!!

Thank you for stopping  by my blog today!

Oh I love this - and have fond memories of the older vets being outside the exchange or the commissary selling them. Today, they make me teary eyed at the nostalgia of it - fabulous take on this sentiment.
