It's a Fancy Fold Christmas

It's time for...
Ready, Set, Go!

This month, Barb is the hostess. This group consists of Barb, Kelly, and myself. The hostess selects a theme - a really challenging (think outside the box) theme. An EXTREME THEME, is my way of thinking of it.

At first glance, Barb's theme may not be all that extreme, but let me tell you... it is! She challenged us to make a FANCY FOLD Christmas card. AND... it had to be a fancy fold we'd never used before.

I. do. not. do. fancy. Fancy anything, for that matter... and definitely not fancy folds. EEK!

So... I snooped around. Looked at SCS Tutorials. Nothing grabbed me. Looked at Pinterest. Nothing grabbed me. Did a google search. Nothing grabbed me.

Then.

Then one day not long ago I saw a card on FB (I wish I knew whose card it was because it was all flower, pink, and drop-jaw GORGEOUS!) But I did pay attention to the fancy fold part of it, too... and my dream was born.

Now, mind you... I was going simply by memory, because for the life of me, I could not find that card again. But... I remembered it was a square easel card, and it had another (smaller) easel card built into its design. So I just went for it.

I will tell you this... I needed instructions... because you have to hold your mouth just right (as my Grandpa would have said) to get the larger easel part to stand up. (I am guessing I made the smaller easel piece too large.)

But I do love the double easel fancy fold! So much playing room... and the overall look is kind of fun, don't you think!!??!?!??

Oh... and see those evergreen trees on the little easel? I just had to add them to my card... because Kelly mailed that stamp/die set to me as part of an amazing Christmas gift package. THANK YOU, Kelly!

Barb, THANK YOU for a great Extreme Theme! I loved it (once I figured out what to make).

Oh... and because this is a fold I've never ever used before... this is my "Try Something New" post this week.

Let's head over to Barb's blog and Kelly's blog to see what they made for their Fancy Fold Christmas cards.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
