Only One
There's a new challenge at PDE Linky Party. It's the second Friday of the month, so the challenge is CARDS. But the optional part of the challenge is to make a one layer card. Yikes! For me, that was quite a challenge.
First of all, I love love LOVE layers of paper... and I love DP! But I'm always willing to give a challenge my best attempt, so I'm on this.
I used that extra heavy Recollections CS so that the ink wouldn't bleed through and stamped this darling little girl in her rain jacket/boots on the card front. But I knew my Copics would definitely bleed through, so I colored her with the Chameleon Colored Pencils that I got last month. I still have a bit of a learning curve with them, but I'm trying.
Of course, I needed a bit of color on the card front - even though it was a single layer, so I used painter's tape to mark off a little strip on the side and I "colored" that area using a marker that I actually purchased for my Bible Journaling since I knew it would not bleed. And the fun part is, you can also color stamps with these markers and stamp with them (as long as you don't want a crisp/clean image) so I stamped my "clouds" with the markers, too. Truth be told, that's camouflage, but I needed it to be clouds... so for the purpose of this card, it is clouds. Work with me on this, okay?
I didn't do much at all on the inside, since it is a single layer card, but I did put another "line" of color on the edge.
Please be sure to play along with the Card Challenge at PDE Linky Party - maybe even try to do a single layer card.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

You did a fabulous job on this adorable one layer design, Jeanette! I can't seem to master my Chameleon Pens. Glad I only bought 10.
Love it Jeanette - and great work on a technique that you are not comfortable with.
Blessings
Maxine
