I'm never very good at distressing. I'd say my style is not so much art journally... vintage, artsy, etc... it's more cutesy... and I'm normally okay with that.
But... sometimes it's good to stretch beyond what's comfortable, which is one of the reasons why I like participating in challenges (and being part of design teams).
The International Art & Soul Challenge that begins today is - DISTRESSING! And yes, for people like me, that can be kind of distressing...
See what I mean? My card may have some ink staining (I love Tim Holtz Antique Linen distressed ink!!!) and some torn edges... but it still looks for cutesy than distressed. Oh well. I gave it a good shot! I even tried carrying the inked and torn look to the inside of the card....

Just love your strong black for the torn paper followed by the gingham, perfect.
