I have fond memories of going with my parents and sister to pick out the "perfect" Christmas tree and then taking it home. We usually did this around the middle of December... no matter the weather. I remember one year we had QUITE A SNOWSTORM... but it was the Saturday that we had planned our family tree-hunting outing, so my Dad said, we're going. And we did.
Fortunately my Dad's driving (and my Mom's praying) kept us safe.
Other Christmas tree memories include going with my grandfather out into his farm fields hunting for the "perfect" Christmas tree. Those trees were Cedars (oh-so-prickly). My sister and I had so much fun going on the Christmas tree hunt with Grandpa.
This week I was at my husband's office (he's a Director of Missions for an association of 25 churches)... I was decorating (a.k.a. putting up Christmas trees). His administrative assistant was telling me of how one year she and her family went to get a Christmas tree. When they got home they got out and looked in the bed of the pickup.... did a double take and looked again. Someone said, "Ok, when did the tree fall out?" Yep, they had to go find the tree they had just cut down.
So, whatever your Christmas tree stories, remember them fondly. Oh, and one more thing... you might want to tie down when hauling it home.
I actually made this card for the new Anything Goes Challenge at PDE Linky Party. The challenge runs for a week and it truly is ANYTHING GOES... so whatever you're creating, please hop over to PDE Linky Party and link it up. We want YOU to participate!

Super cute card, Jeanette! My sister and I hated picking out our Christmas tree as kids because our mother was so picky! It seems we held up hundreds of tree for her inspection!
ReplyDeleteThis image brings back so many memories for me. I just love this card.
ReplyDeleteLove that hot red car transporting that Christmas tree around. I don't have that stamp, but I got that VW bug from Unity doing the same thing, and have loved using it this season.
