Peek at My Week

Here it is... Friday again! T.G.I.F.

And with Friday comes my Peek at My Week post.... where I summarize the week I've just had.

Let's see.

I had a great trip last weekend! I went to Chicago to lead a workshop and then, since I was just a little over an hour away from my oldest son's home, I went to visit him and his girlfriend. It was great to see them!!! And I got to tour the Jelly Belly Jelly Bean Factory (again - I've done it before - but since they give you a free little bag of jelly beans and the tour is free, I figure it's always good to tour it again.) I also went to Costco with them. I'd never been before. WOW! That place is huge!

After returning home I'd planned to work in the garage - unpacking boxes, purging/sorting, deciding what to sell at the yard sale I'm planning to have early this summer. BUT, the weather didn't cooperate for that. It was a bit too cold for my liking, since the garage is unheated... so instead I worked at sorting/purging in my Working Studio. I'm determined to get this place in tip top shape... if it takes me a lifetime, which it probably will.

I was not happy with the way I had my rhinestones, pearls, and candy dots stored. They were all in one huge bin with a lid. They were sort of divided... well, no, not really. So whenever I wanted to find one to put on a card I had to pilfer through the whole bin until I found what I wanted.

It. was. not. working. for. me.

Time for a new plan!

I think I'm going to like this new plan. So far I've organized my candy dots and pearls (the rhinestones will happen another day/week).

The bin is very sturdy and I love that it has a handle. I actually have SEVERAL of these bins - I got them at Big Lots - you've probably noticed them on my blog before (for instance, my embossing folders are in one).

The first section is the candy dots... and the pearls are behind the second bright pink divider. They are sorted by color (in alphabetical order). And the items are in those 14mm flap envelopes that I'm storing my clear and cling-mounted stamps in.

I'm just hoping that my rhinestones will all fit in one of these bins, otherwise I'm going to have to rethink the shelf that I'm putting them on.

I only made three cards this week. Oh well, next week I'll probably make a lot more.

SCORE TIME: Would I give this week a “thumbs up” or a “thumbs down”?

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

  1. Jeanette upi really have a lot of blingy accents - mine fit in one very small container, so flicking through them is no big deal for me - well done on finding such wonderful containers and getting organised!
That Jelly Bean factory tour sounds wonderful
