Peek at My Week

It's Friday! TGIF!!! And a Peek at My Week post, too.... how fun!

BTW, in case you didn't notice, there wasn't a Peek at My Week last week. We were actually out of state last week - my mother-in-law's funeral was Friday - so I decided not to post anything on my blog that day.

Now, this week............. hmmmmmmmmmmm... what should I mention?

I love the number three, so I'll just share with you three things:

1. I worked on my preparations for a workshop I'm leading next weekend.... it's coming along nicely. I still have a lot of work to do on it, but it will be ready in time.

2. My husband needed to go to "the city" to make a hospital visit, so Brock and I went along, which meant Starbucks (I'll chauffeur anywhere for a 'Bux) and Olive Garden, too. :)

3. I went to Dollar Tree this week and found some additional bright pink storage items for my Working Studio! You might remember that's the focal color I'm using. Love it when I find storage items that are bright pink AND inexpensive!

Okay, maybe I fibbed............. because I also MUST tell you about the card my sister made and mailed to me. A history lesson first.

1. My sister hadn't started making cards until last summer when we and our parents were at a condo in Branson for a few days and I taught her a few things and we went shopping at this LSS, where we both managed to leave some of our money. BTW, it's a VERY NICE store, so if you're ever in Branson, I highly recommend you check it out.

2. My sister is into a variety of crafts, unlike her sister - me - who just does cards. She makes amazing wood items with her scroll saw (I Saw by Jeannie is her business name - check it out on facebook), she crochets wonderful scrubbies that are handy for washing dishes and so much more, and she tats, just to mention a few things.

3. Our grandmother was a tatter. I remember sitting in her lap (or beside her) as she tatted. She never looked at what she was doing, but it always turned out lovely. My sister learned the basics (Grandma's tatting was basic) but she has also master making tatted doilies, cross bookmarks, and more.

I told you I like the number 2.

So................ my sister made me a CARD that has a TATTED heart on it! Want to see? Of course you do!

Here's a closeup of the tatted heart:

Isn't my sister amazing!?!?!?!

SCORE TIME: Would I give this week a “thumbs up” or a “thumbs down”?

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

  2. Wow - love that tatted heart - I can do just the very basics of tatting, but my Mum was a whizz at it!
I enjoyed reading about your week Jeanette.

  3. way thumbs up from me!! Your sister is pretty darn good at cards herself! And what is this working studio you speak of? non crafting studio for work? a traveling studio for when you're on the go?

  4. I love your sister's fabulous tatted heart. A friend of mine gave me her small tatted pieces to use on my cards before she passed from cancer. I treasure them and have been unable to part with any of them. Wish I had learned this craft!
