I used to do a feature on my blog on
Friday’s called “A PEEK AT MY WEEK.” I’ve decided to give it a try again this
year… but this time I’m not going to be so defined in the way I did it. (In the
past I responded to the same sentence-starters each time: something I loved,
something I learned, somewhere I went, something I created, something I’m going
to do the upcoming weekend, and something I want to accomplish next week.)
This year I’m going to use “A Peek
at My Week” as a time of reflecting on the good, bad, and/or ugly of the week. It
might be paper-crafting related; it might not. It might be my thoughts on a particular
thing that happened during the week; it might not. It might be a long post; it
might not. It might be a short post; it might not. I guess what I’m saying is
there are no defined rules around this. We’ll just see how it goes.
Sooooooooooooooo… here’s a peek at my
week - the first week of 2016.
First, some history:
1. We
moved to a different house on November 23.
2. It
took me about 2 weeks to unpack and set up our home.
3. I’m
a bit Christmas crazy so immediately after unpacking I decorated for the
holidays (9 Christmas trees, 3 Nativity sets, and a Christmas village that
includes 25 lighted buildings and a lot of little pieces, too).
4. I
had not purchased a single Christmas gift before the move… so I scurried to do
my Christmas shopping.
5. I
wrapped a ton of gifts (Brock loves “green presents” for Christmas).
6. Company
came for about a week (it was so good to have Jeremy and Brandi here!).
7. We
made a trip to Missouri to see my parents and sister.
8. I
took down all the Christmas decorations and packed them away for another year.
Whew! It has been a great 6 weeks…
but a busy one!
That being said, I’ve not really had
time to enjoy our new-to-us home. I fell in love with it! But didn’t “MAXIMIZE”
my time enjoying it. (Tee Hee! Remember, MAXIMIZE is “my word” for this year.)
I made up for that this week. I sat
and relaxed some, I cooked simple but delightful meals in my amazing kitchen
(and ran the dishwasher a number of times!), I sat at my desk and did some computer work (which I love doing!) and I enjoyed playing in my
wonderful playroom. Can you believe it? I actually made 13 cards this week!
YAY! It definitely has been a GREAT week!
Speaking of cards, this is one of
the cards I made this week (I actually made multiples of it). It’s for the
Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards group that I’m a part of on SCS. Barb is the
hostess and she asked us to use our favorite winter stamp (Egads! I am not sure
I have A FAVORITE ONE, but this is way up there on the list) and also to use
some DP on our cards. DUH! I almost always use DP. I love DP!!!
I hope Barb likes my card!
SCORE TIME: Would I give this week a
“thumbs up” or a “thumbs down”?
Definitely Thumbs Up!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Okay, two things stood out to me....MAXIMIZE and 13 cards! Wow! You get a lot done - thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteYou really have had a busy few weeks Jeanette. Love it that Brock loves 'green' presents :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the image you have used in you card - it's a real cutie. Looks as though you are getting a head start on next Christmas with those colours.
13 cards in one week is impressive, even with multiples :-)
