The 'Hood = Favorite & Fabulous

I have been part of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards card swap group for a long time - we're talking years, not months. We swap every two months. We rotate who is the hostess. The hostess chooses the theme.

I the 'Hood!

It was my turn to hostess the group and I just sent the packages back to my sistah's. (shhhh! Don't tell, but instead of getting 5 cards back, they're getting 6... because I made a card for each of them.)

The theme I chose was...

Favorite and Fabulous!

I chose this theme because these ladies are some of my most favorite people - and I think they are fabulous!

For the purpose of this swap, I made these explanations...

Favorite = Use one/s of your favorite things on your card. It might be your favorite stamp/image, your favorite embellishment, your favorite color, or any other "favorite" that you choose.

Fabulous = I know we always use at least two layers and one embellishment, but for this time I want you to do something a little extra to make your cards fabulous. It might be simply adding another layer to your card, using a handmade embellishment, creating your own designer paper, using a unique fold, or any other "fabulous" feature you choose.

Here's the card I made:

Favorite =

1, Holiday - Christmas
2. Layer with black cardstock
3. Use designer paper on my card
4. One of my favorite embellishments - rhinestones
5. Decorate the inside of the card, too
6. Use non-traditional colors (we usually think of red/green for Christmas, not pastels)

Fabulous =

I rarely ever sponge on a card and this card I did. I sponged the sun rays on the piece behind the image - sort of making my own designer paper. I also sponged the piece the image is stamped onto. It was stamped on white cardstock.

Here's the inside of my card:

  2. Oh Jeanette this is a stunner - love what you have done with the sponging and the gold colour contrasted with the black.
