It’s Friday, so it’s time for…
A PEEK AT MY WEEK
Something I loved
about this week…
My husband was gone most of the week (no, that’s NOT what I
loved about the week). He went to visit our daughter in Alaska, where she is teaching Special Ed in
the bush. They had a GREAT time together. I asked my husband to look for an
Alaska Starbucks mug for me, since I collect Starbucks mugs. He didn’t find
one; apparently they’re sold out. But he did bring me a unique and fun
souvenir, though it’s not something I would expect to find in Alaska.
Here is a picture of it:
Do you have any idea what it is? I’ll reveal the answer at
the end of this blog post.
He also brought me this pair of handmade earrings that my
daughter got me. They were made by a Native Alaskan woman that she met shortly
after moving to Pilot Station, Alaska.
Something I learned
this week…
I learned how to “talk” text messages on my fairly new
iPhone 6. It was so fun! (Who knew something so simple could bring me so much
joy???)
Oh, and I also learned that there is a way to change the
types of pictures I take on my phone – mono, tonal, noir, fade, chrome, etc.
Pretty cool!
Somewhere I went this
week…
I really didn’t go anywhere – other than the store for
groceries and to take my son Brock out for cheeseburgers and french fries.
Something I created
this week…
Jessica (of JessicaLynnOriginal) gave me an adorable stamp set - Dachshund Weiner Dog as one of my design team perks. I decided it was time to get it inky!
Something I’m going
to do this weekend…
If it quits raining long enough to do so, I’m going to put
the fall/Halloween decorations on the front porch. Rain, rain, go away!
Something I want to
accomplish next week…
It is going to be a short week for me since I will be out of
town all day Friday and Saturday for a Kids’ Ministry event. I’m pretty excited
about that! That being said, I need to get my Sunday Bible Study teaching plans
finished early in the week.
I also want to stop at Michael’s while I’m in the city and
see if I can find a BIG cake-decorating tip. I want to make special cupcakes
for the youth at church – you know; the ones with mile-high frosting. YUM!
Did I take the
30-Minute Challenge this week?
What
is a 30-Minute Challenge? Basically, I choose something to do – perhaps it’s an
organization task that is calling out to me, or a topic I want to research, or
(*gasp!) an exercise I want to try, etc. – and I set the timer and invest 30
minutes in that challenge.
I had a HUGE box of scraps and stuff left from last
weekend’s girls’ event – picture approximately 100 girls (grades 1-6) making
cards. So I spent my 30 minutes unpacking, sorting, tossing, and storing the
stuff in that box.
SCORE TIME: Would I give
this week a “thumbs up” or a “thumbs down”?
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I appreciate you so
much!

Oh, and what is that Alaska souvenir?
It is an olive pitter.
