FriendSHIP

Today, being the 9th of the month, is the day for the Carriers of Faith blog group to have a little something to share on our blogs. And this month I am the hostess which means I got to pick out the theme.

Here it is:

September Challenge – Friendship

Two are better than one, because hey have a good return for their work;
If one falls down, his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!
Also, if tow lie down together, they will keep warm,
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)

One of my favorite passages in the Bible is Ecclesiastes 4:9-12. It reminds me that God did not create us for isolation. He wants us to connect with other believers.

There really are many applications found in these four verses, but for the purpose of this month’s challenge, I would like us to focus on Christian friendship and create a card (or scrapbook page, etc) that focuses on friendship. As an extra challenge, in your blog post please tell us about a special Christian friend who means a lot to you, and then, if possible, mail your card to that friend.

For my card I had a really difficult time choosing an image, partly because I really couldn't find any Christian friendship themed stamps in my stash. Hmmmmmm.... maybe I should have looked for one BEFORE I chose my theme.

But, I do love Our Daily Bread stamps - so many wonderful Christian stamps in their store, and quite a few of them in my Cubbyhole, too. ;) So for my card, I used a stamp from Our Daily Bread and a friendship sentiment to go with it.

I really like the quote on the front of the card. It's an old A Muse stamp that I've had for a long time - back before A Muse was a home-based company.

Here's the inside of my card:

The Christian friend I'd like to tell you about is none other than the leader of the Carriers of Faith blog group. I've "known" Kelly for many years now - almost got to meet her IRL once, even, but alas, that fell through. She is an amazing woman! A strong Christian who lives the walk! A fantastic mother who is raising her children to love the Lord! A great role model for other women! And a true friend! Kelly, I ♥ you!!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Please head over to the other Carriers of Faith blogs and see what they've made, too. You'll be amazed at the creativity of this group! (You'll find the links to their blogs in my left sidebar.)
