I've been part of a swapping group called the Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards for a long time - I've lost track of how long it's been. We swap every other month, with a different one of us serving as the hostess each round.
Judy gave us a GREAT theme for January/February - but I had a mental block and just couldn't seem to figure out what to do with it.
Here's her theme (in her words):
Theme: Inspiration and Blessings!
It’s been a time of reflection the past month and now a time to look forward. So I would like you to create a card that expresses your hopes, dreams, and/or aspirations, for you or someone you would like to inspire and bless.
After over-thinking the possibilities, I finally decided to make a card that seems suitable for my daughter - her dream is to move to Alaska - oh, not a city like Anchorage, but out in the bush - to teach Special Education. She's working on the necessary steps to achieve that goal. So I designed a card with a Follow Your Dreams theme and a cute little Alaska-sort-of image, too. (I didn't have one of those, so I found a FREE coloring book page online that I shrunk to use on my card.) That's my "extra option/challenge"... as far as I can remember, I've never done that before.)
Judy, I hope this isn't too far from what you intended for your swap.
Here's my card:
I love the Dream DP I just happened to have in my stash... I thought it was perfect for this card.
This is the inside of my card:
I'm sorry the photo is so crooked. UGH!
This is my 78th card in the 100 Cards in 100 Days Challenge.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Beautiful card and wonderful way to honor your DD!!
ReplyDeleteThis card turned out so cute! Your DD will love it. I hope she is able to make the trek to Alaska.
ReplyDeleteI rarely think about using word paper on cards. I save it for scrapbooks. I have got to copy you more often. Great idea and great card. Thanks!
