Today is the day that the Crafty Gals blog group will be CASE'ing/ honoring Zella. Each month our leader (Melina) chooses one of the members and on the 5th we CASE her in some way. This month it's Zella.
Here's what Melina had to say about Zella:
We are showing love to Zella this month! Zella is our GAL for July! She likes to create with cute images like animals and flowers. She loves (I believe) bright colors. She makes beautiful inspirational cards also. Look through her beautiful blog, find something you love and get busy!
As an extra challenge this month, I know Zella loves sending her cards to be used at crisis centers and the like so if you could send your card (and a few extras if you're feeling froggy) to a worthy cause (like Cards For a Cure, Cards With a Mission, Operation Write Home, etc), I know that would put a big ole smile on Zella's face.
Well... let me tell you... I went to Zella's blog and I had a TERRIBLE time chooses something to CASE! I wanted to case nearly every card! Take this one, for instance. Isn't it beautiful!?!? That was going to be my choice. I love the mostly black/white color scheme with just a touch of red. Oh, and I loved the layers and layers of paper on this one. And I love the layout and buttons on this one. Decisions! DECISIONS!
I finally decided to CASE this card. Actually Zella had three cards on that blog post - I CASE'd the second one - the one with the big sunflowers on it. Truthfully, the sunflowers were what caught my eye. I love sunflowers! They are one of my favorite flowers! I was born in Kansas, what can I say???
So, I created a card with a big ole' sunflower image on it.
Truthfully, the main similarity between my card and Zella's is the fact that both have sunflowers on them... which also means they both use the same color scheme. I hope that's enough to call it a CASE.
Here's the inside of my card:
To meet the criteria for the "extra challenge" to send the card to a cause, I'm going to use this card for my participation in the Chemo Angel program.
- CASE CLOSED -
I can't wait to see what the other Crafty Gals did for their Zella-inspired creations! Let's go check out their blogs. You'll find the links in my left side bar.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
