First, let me wish each of you a wonderful and safe 4th of July!
Happy Independence Day!
I have the joy of being part of a blog group called the Stamp Addicts! These ladies inspire me, encourage me, and even challenge me to get outside my crafting rut. THANK YOU, Fellow Stamp Addicts!
While chatting in our thread one day, we discovered that many of us own Washi tape, but few of us really used it much. So a challenge was born. We were to create a card/project with Washi tape. (I discovered this was not the easiest thing for me to do. LOL! Seriously? How difficult can it be to slap down some tape???)
I actually reminisced quite a bit while making this card. Not too long ago I was on a mission trip, working with young people in a foreign land. One of the things I took for them to make was a smash book kit. You can see the sample here. I also took a big bag of Washi tape (as well as other supplies) for them to use while making their smash book/journals. Well, let me tell you....... some of them LOVED Washi tape.
So, while I made today's card, I remembered my new young friends... and it made me happy!
Not that my card made me happy (not happy with it at all!) I guess I need those talented young ladies to come and teach me better ways to use Washi tape! ;)
Here it is:
Here's the inside of my card:
I also just found out there's a SALE going on at MelonHeadz Illustrating TODAY only! Check it out...

ReplyDeleteHEY - What's NOT to like here?????? LOL
ReplyDeletePersonally, I see a great card! I like how the edges of the red Washi tape look like the flag is fluttering in the breeze! The embossed blue square is great too!
Happy & safe 4th of July to you!
Jeanette, I love your card. It's smashing! Love the blue embossing tab you put on it with the strips!

Aw, it came out just fine - don't be so hard on yourself! God bless the USA! x0x0
ReplyDeleteI really like the layout idea. The embossing looks great with the dimension. Yeah Washi Tape, not as easy as it looks! You did well with it.
ReplyDeleteGreat start to your career with Washi tape Jeanette!

ReplyDeleteWhat a super cool idea! Very fun and festive card!
ReplyDeleteI think your flag is wonderful. Wish I had seen it sooner. I'd have CASEd it for the 4th. I've been checking out your blog and love how you embellish the inside of your cards. They look so good. It's like creating a 2fer each time. Nice.
