Say Cheese
It's the last day of June so the Crafters of Faith blog group has a little project to share, as we do on the last day of every month. This month Barb is the hostess, which means she got to choose the theme.
Barb's Theme
June is Dairy Month in Wisconsin. I remember when I was growing up there were dairy breakfasts at farms in our area and my 4-H club had a pie and ice cream social every June. Now - I am not sure that everyone has a dairy themed image. But - if you have something farm related - cow, chickens, ducks, barns, fields, etc. or dairy products related - ice cream, cheese, milk, eggs, cream puffs (the Wisconsin State Fair favorite!), or use your own imagination to honor the dairy farmer. Do you have some farm related DSP or an embossing folder? Chicken wire, barbed wire, farm animals, etc. - please be sure to use that.
I hope everyone enjoys creating a card or scrapbook page with a Dairy Farm Theme! Do you have a farm related story from your childhood to also share when you post your card? We would love to read about a favorite memory.
Have Fun - Enjoy the Challenge! Thanks - Barb
I actually have quite a few farm related items in my stash of toys, but I decided to go with CHEESE! I used a Whipper Snapper stamp (they're from Wisconsin, you know) called The Big Cheese.
I went with a very CAS layout - and for once, I actually like the CAS card I created. (I usually don't.)
Memories to share? I guess my fondest farm-related memories all center around time spent with my grandparents (they were farmers). They dabbled in a little bit of everything on their farms - a few dairy cows, hogs, hay, crops, chickens, etc. There was always something to explore and chores to help with when we visited, though I suspect I was probably not much help. My favorite time of day was when the dairy truck came to collect the milk from the large milk cans. I liked that best because the driver always gave my sister and I a Kraft caramel or two. YUM!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Be sure and stop by the other Crafters of Faith blogs to see what they made, okay? You'll find the links to their blogs in my left sidebar.

Fun!
On the 28th of every month, the Calendar Girls blog group posts the monthly challenge projects. Today is the 28th! FUN!!!
Miss June is none other than Deb. She is such a kind and creative woman who is way too busy with a full-time job, a number of children at home (who are all involved in a lot of activities), etc - yet she still finds time to create cards. I am in awe!
This being Deb's month - she got to choose the challenge for the Calendar Girls. Just wait until you see/hear what she did......................
She sent each of us a little stamp/set. You know, those stamps that we often times are tempted to buy - because they just cost a dollar. She decided to give us a theme of
Back in early May she mailed us each a different stamp and admonished us not to lose it (she knows us so well!). And then she gave us this challenge...
The requirements fo the June theme are:
1. At least two layers.
2. You must use the $1 stamp you receive on the card. However since the $1 stamps are small you can use background stamps or other stamps to create a background, and sentiment stamps of your own on your card as well. But I would like the $1 stamp to be the focal point.
3. If you have any buttons, ribbons, or other embellishments that you bought for $1 or less, embellishments that were gifted to you, or recycled items, please use those products to embellish the card.
OOPS! I blew #3.... totally forgot that part of the challenge. I'm sorry, Deb. I hope you'll like my card anyway.
Okay........
It's a birdhouse. I was actually so excited when I saw it because I had some adorable little wooden bird embellishments that I had been wanting to use, and I thought this was the perfect opportunity. In my excitement, I totally forgot the $1 embellishments part of the challenge. UGH! I have no idea what I paid for the bird embellishments. Oh......... I know! Let's just say it was $1. ;)
Now, let's go over to the Calendar Girl blogs and see what the others made (and what Deb sent them). You'll find the links in my left side bar.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I'm so glad you did!

Peaceful Waters
First things first... I'm home again after nearly two weeks abroad. I missed all of my blogging and swapping friends, but thanks to scheduled posting, I was able to post a few things for you to see while I was gone. Thank you to all of you who stopped by and left a comment. I ♥ you all!!!
Now........... it's Tuesday and time to tell you about a couple of new challenges!
THANK YOU Elizabeth Bell and Di's Digi Designs!

Then there's the Twisted Tuesday Challenge...
My seven embellishments are three buttons, a Charm, Ribbon, Hemp, and (though it doesn't show up well in the photo) Stickles Glitter Glue on the waves.

Summer
Today seems to be a summer'y day. ;) Both of my cards make me think of summer.
First there's the ABC Challenges card...
I honestly couldn't quite figure out what to do with this one. I like to use Stampin' UP! stamps whenever possible for the ABC Challenges - just because Patty (the owner of ABC Challenges) is a SU demo and I like to honor her that way. But I didn't have any patriotic SU stamp sets. So instead I decided to use a new set that I just recently got - Feeling Sentimental.
I need to practice some more with the ferris wheel stamp... it looks wonky to me. But I didn't have time to perfect it (I made this card as I was rushing to get ready to go to Thailand for nearly two weeks), so it is what it is.
I guess you figured out that I created my own DP with the Celebrate stamp.
My second card truly is a Summer'y card...
And it just amazed me that I actually found a ribbon in my stash that had summer fun on it. WOW! What's the odds of that???
Yes, that's another image from the MelonHeadz Water Fun Bundle.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you'll participate in the ABC Challenges Red, White, and Blue Challenge and the MelonHeadz Friends Summer Fun Challenge!
