Crafty Gals Honor Tracie

The Crafty Gals Blog Group posts on the 5th of every month. Our leader (Melina) chooses one of the members to be featured and we all look at her blog to find something to inspire us in our creations. This month's featured Crafty Gal is Tracie. I went to her blog and did some snooping around. ;) I discovered some things about Tracie.

1. Tracie appears to use her Silhouette Cameo cutting machine quite a bit! (Unlike me. I own a Cricut; never use it).

2. Tracie rarely colors! (Unlike me. I love to color).

3. Tracie often does projects other than cards! (Unlike me. I mostly do cards).

Are you seeing a trend here?

Tracie is super creative and very talented! Her style may not be the same as mine (that's okay), but I thoroughly enjoyed being inspired by her this month!

I decided to (sort of) incorporate those three points into my project this month.

1. No, I didn't drag out my Cricut. It's still in the box on the shelf where I put it when we moved into this house nearly 2 years ago... so why bother to take it out now? LOL!  Instead, I created with my punches - but I made a hedgehog because I loved Tracie's hedgehog!

2. I didn't color!

3. I made something other than a card.

First.............. go to this link and check out Tracie's blog post that inspired me. Isn't that just the cutest little hedgehog? Gotta love it!

So............... I made a treat goodie, too.

My hedgehog is made with Stampin' UP! punches. I missed the class at my SU demo's house, but Phyllis told me what punches she used to make the hedgehog and I re-created him for this project.

Large Scalloped Circle (2 pieces) - body
Small Scalloped Circle (with a piece trimmed off) - head
Blossom Builder - face and feet
Build an Owl - nose

I chalked the edges of the Chocolate Chip pieces to make them stand out. I added a googly eye - just because I like googly eyes. (Phyllis used two punches for her eye, but I wanted to "google").

The hedgehog's head is popped up off of the body with pop dots and the entire hedgehog is popped up off of the tag. I added a "love" acrylic dot just for fun.

Easy!

Now, let's head over to the other Crafty Gals blogs to see how Tracie inspired them, okay? You'll find the links in my left sidebar. And please be sure to leave some love for them (especially Tracie!). It will make them happy!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
