Read Any Good Books Lately?

I used to read quite a bit, then a road block in my life seemed to take that joy away from me. I've decided to jumpstart my life again this year by reading a book a month. Wish me luck!

For my first book of the year, I'm reading the curious incident of the dog in the night-time, a novel authored by Mark Haddon and written from the perspective of a person with a disorder similar to Autism or Asperger's. So far, it's pretty interesting.

Of course, I will NOT let reading get in the way of my love for cardmaking. LOL!

Sooooooo... here's a card I made:

Image: Stampavie Hedgehog Reading
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Copic Markers
Cardstock: Stampin' UP!
Designer Paper: from my scrap file
Embellishments: Stampin' UP ribbon and dots (vendor unknown)

The book sounds interesting! Kyle read one similar at school and shared it with me - was a good read! I know you will reach your goal in this new year!!

I've had a blast of inspiration while visiting your blog and I just love your upbeat look on life and the endeavor in which you plan to partake in in 2012. Books, random daily acts of kindness and stamping.
Your comments are most certainly encouraging and I've found myself following you as well.
Your cards are adorable and really touching.
It's so nice to meet a fellow resident of Knob. We've been here almost 9 years now and I bet you it hasn't changed a bit since you were here. :) Oh wait...they did move the Library. Other than that, the ol' silo with the tree growing out of it on 50 highway East is still a real crowd pleaser. ;)
So nice to "meet" you Jeanette!
hugs,
Lisa xx

Oh Jeanette, love this cute card! When I'm not crafting, fishing, or gardening, THIS is what I love to do! Forget the housework, just give me a book! That little image just makes me smile and so does your precious card!

Well now THIS card is my favorite so far!!! I LOVE this image. The colors are rich and why-oh-why do I never think of using black to bring things together? I also really like the text in the background, like we're seeing what he's reading. LOVE this one!
