Riding Into Spring

It's the first Sunday of the month. It happened quickly this month (Tee Hee!)... so it's time for a KitCat post. I love these!!!

You probably recall that the KitCats are a group of 5 online friends who create with identical (or nearly identical) kits once a month. This month, Susan was our hostess and she sent us the most wonderful kit, filled with spring colors - papers, bling, ribbon, and more, as well as an adorable bicycle image. THANK YOU, SUSAN!!!

While I do love EVERYTHING she sent; I do NOT love my card. UGH! But it is what it is. Wanna see???

The idea seemed good... but the execution didn't quite measure up.

The beautiful designer paper had some butterflies/insects on it, so I wanted to replicate that look with the other features of my card. I used my butterfly nextability to add a large butterfly shape under the image, as well as a tiny layered butterfly to the side of the image.

I colored the image with Copic Spica Pens to give it sparkle.

I love the fabric button/brad with the bird on it so placed it at the top. I wanted it to look like it was perched on a highline, watching the scene below, but I'm not sure that worked.

I added just the tiniest amount of designer paper to the inside of the card... just enough to give a little visual impact.

Riding Into Spring!

Now let's go see what the other KitCats came up with...

I Kelly

I Lorie

I Michelle

I Susan

I think you embellished the card well. Don't be sad, not every card is a hit with yourself, but there are folks that think it is da bomb!

WOW!! This is gorgeous, I love it. It all works well together. I think you are hard on yourself, although sometimes we find things are not as good in real life as we envisage. But you know I think it is great!!

Jeanette, you are too hard on yourself - I think you did a fantastic job with my little old kit! I love how you pulled the butterfly theme from the DP to accent your card in so many ways, from the big die-cut butterfly to the small accent ones! And look at all the embellies you used, too! Hope you enjoyed pedaling through the kit! {hugs & purrs}
