I Love This Technique

You probably remember a few days ago I created a card using a technique I had never heard of before (embossing on acetate) and I vowed to use the technique again in the future. Welllllllll... the future has arrived!

In case you didn't see the previous post, click here. I loved the embossed border around the acetate on the card.

This time I decided to try something different. I used a flower-shaped die and cut out clear acetate flowers. Then I haphazardly applied versamark ink to the flowers, leaving some bare patches. I added embossing powder and embossed, to give the clear accetate flowers some dimension, sparkle, and color.

The flower on this particular card is actually made with three different acetate flowers (large, medium, and small) which are layered together and held in place with a brad.


I didn't want to add too much to the card, letting the flower shine, so I went very simple, with just a single sheet of designer paper and some ribbon and brads.

The inside holds a quote that seemed fitting for the flowery card.

This card was so much fun to make. I actually made several of them, since this design was for the Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards Swap for April. Our hostess Wynne challenged us to make cards that reflected springtime. I hope she likes my card.
