I ♥ Dueling Darlings

Let the DUEL begin... the creative duel, that is.

Today is February 15 and on the 15th of every month, the Dueling Darlings battle it out (all in good fun). This month, April was the incredible hostess of the Dazzlers (YAY, Dazzlers!) In case you can't tell, I'm a Dazzler. Jamie is the hostess of the Divas this month.

April sent the Dazzlers such a fun kit - filled with lots of choices of images (all from Close to My Heart), designer papers (all ColorBok from Target), and an assortment of ribbons and pearls (all from Michael's). There were so many things to choose from that I had a difficult time deciding what to use.

The theme for this month's Dueling Darlings is LOVE!

Here's the card I created:

I went with lots of layers so I could use more of the goodies in April's kit. LOL!

The only thing I added to create my card was some Stampin' UP! cardstock (Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Purely Pomegranate).

It's difficult to tell from the pictures (even with different angles) but I did something quite different than I normally do with the sentiment/punch. I punched a "hole" out of the Baja Breeze strip of paper so the striped designer paper would show through the opening. That's where I placed the sentiment. Kind of a differnt style of layering. It really looks much better than the picture indicates.

Thank you, April for a wonderful kit.

I'm super excited to see what Jamie sent the Divas and to see what they created, too. Let's go check out all the blogs - the Dazzlers and the Divas.

WOW!! This is a knock out card, Jeanette! So great to use non-traditional Valentine colors, makes this really stand out. The layers are great, not over-done and love how you popped them up! Simply great!
