Awwww... Who doesn't want to show off a new baby?

Today is a VERY SPECIAL day! It's the first Sunday of the month... so it is time for a KitCat creation. The KitCats are hosted this month by the awesome Lorie! WOW! Lorie sent out the kits and when mine arrived, I was immediately drooling over all of the awesome contents. She gave us so many thing sto play with - wonderful designer papers, pearls (lots and lots of pearls), ribbon, glitter, a glue pen, a blank photo album/brag book, and a cute Cute CUTE Peachy Keen stamp called Winter Baby in Teacup. It was overwhelming to receive such a delightful array of products!

This is a really special KitCat post, for another reason... it is also a Crafty Ho Challenge post, the first one for 2011

January 2 - 8

Theme: New Baby

For my project, I chose to create a cover for the little brag book, leaving plenty of room inside for placing adorable baby pictures.

I'm sorry - the picture really isn't very good. I have such poor lighting , so my pictures suffer! This really is a cute idea and the plastic covering that the album slides into will protect it from wear/tear for years to come.

I treated it as a small scrapbook page with layers and the image, which I partially colored with Copic markers and paper-pieced the rest. I added pearls to th circle strip and glitter to the two snowflakes.

After slipping the cover into the plastic sleeve, I added a pearl to the center of the snowflake on the baby's hat and a pair of feet to the base of the teacup. I also tied a piece of blue and a piece of pink ribbon through the top of the album and added a pair of diaper pins to the knot.

The only things I used that were not in Lorie's kit wee the cardstock and the diaper pins and baby feet.

Thanks for looking at my brag book! Now let's go see what the other KitCats created...

  1. Just adorable Jeannette! I love the dimensions that you created by putting things inside and outside. And I agree, this little guy just needed some paper piecing :)

Awesome job, someone will be very lucky to receive your book.
